driving milford sound: gulliver bridge

This is Bridge 2542. It's also called Gulliver Bridge. It stretches over the Tutoko River at the end of State Highway 94 near the Milford Sound Lodge.

This bridge is special for two reasons.

First, it has a footpath that runs directly parallel to it. Second, you can climb underneath it and live the life of a troll for a while ( or if you are my husband, clamber up really massive boulders).

I could spend the rest of my life in Milford Sound and never tire of this blue, gushing water or green, craggy mountains.

  1. can we go back here now please? I'm tired of rainy Taiwan!

  2. amazing! I would have totally stood on that massive boulder as well haha

    1. Confession: It took him a good 10 minutes to figure out how to get down. Then, we instituted a new rule: don't climb up anything you cannot climb down!
